“Sylvie Poulin” ROCKY HILL COLUMBUS DAY CLASSIC TOURNAMENT

Dear Coach, Manager or Club President:
The Rocky Hill Soccer Club invites you to participate in our 23rd “Sylvie Poulin” Rocky Hill Columbus Day Classic Tournament to be held on Columbus Day weekend, October 9 and 10, 2021 and October 8, where local teams may be requested to play. This tournament is a Club/Travel league division for both boys and girls. The Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA) and the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) have sanctioned this tournament.
Each team entering the tournament must be currently registered with their State, National Association or any other US Soccer affiliated club. Maximum roster size will be twelve (12) players for U9 & U10, sixteen (16) players for U11 & U12 and twenty (20) players for U13 & U14/15 and all may include up to three (3) guest players. Note exemptions to roster size may be approved by the Tournament Director for consideration at time of registration. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT TROPHIES FOR U11 THRU U14/15 ARE BASED ON THE MAXIMUM ROSTER SIZE STATED. TROPHIES FOR THOSE THAT ARE BRACKET CHAMPIONS OR RUNNER UP WILL NEED TROPHIES ORDERED IF THEY RECEIVED A ROSTER EXCEPTION. No player is allowed to be registered with more than one team per age bracket and no roster changes are permitted once the tournament has started. Teams from outside Region I and New Jersey must provide an authorized copy of the USYSA Permission to Travel Form and provide with registration.
Age groups: Separate competition for boys and girls will be held in the following age groups for players born on or after January 1:
U9: 2013 U10: 2012 U11: 2011
U12: 2010 U13: 2009 U14/15: 2007-2008
When: Saturday, October 9 and Sunday, October 10, 2021. Note local teams may be requested to play on Friday evening October 8th.
Format: U11 thru U14/15 age groups will play 4 games that will consist of two (2) twenty-five (25) minute running time halves. Half time will be two (2) minutes. U9 and U10 will play 4 games that will consist of two (2) twenty (20) minute running time halves. Half time will be two (2) minutes. The three-referee system will be used for age brackets for U11 thru U14/15 while U9 & U10 will be assigned a minimum of 1 official. Individual player awards will be given to the 1st and 2nd place teams at the end of the Round Robin format for U11 thru U14/15. Individual Medallions are provided to all U9 and U10 participants.
Bracketing for U11 thru U14/15 teams will be placed in a either a 4-team bracket or a 5 or more team bracket. Note that the 4-team bracket will be round-robin play to seed teams. The tie-breaking system will apply to seed the bracket if point total ties exist at the end of the round robin. The 1 and 2 seeds will play in the championship game and the 3 and 4 seeds will play in a consolation game. These two games will represent each teams 4th game. In the event that the Championship game ends in a tie, the tournament will crown both teams as Co-Champions. An extra order of trophies will be ordered for the team that has the least distance to travel. The 5 or more team bracket will play a 4-game round robin. Co-Champions will be crowned in the 5 or more bracket if the round robin cannot break a tie in tournament points awarded through the tie-breaking system. An extra order of trophies will be ordered for the team that has the least distance to travel. Teams are asked to not exchange patches/pins.
Application: A separate application and entry fee, for each club/travel/league team must be submitted by September 1, 2021. The fee is $550 for U9 thru U10 and $600 for U11 thru U14/15. Registration and Payments received by August 19, 2021 will be discounted to $525 (U9 & U10) and $575 (U11 thru U14/15). Please pay online with a credit card when you register on GotSoccer, our preferred registration tool. For those that prefer paying by check, please make payable to Rocky Hill Soccer Club. All applications or registrations received after September 1, 2021 will be placed on a waiting list and processed on a space available basis. Team selection is at the discretion of the tournament committee and submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. Acceptance confirmations will be emailed by September 11, 2021. Teams not selected will receive an immediate refund of their entry fee. Teams withdrawing from the tournament after receiving their acceptance confirmation will forfeit their entry fee.
